I saw this happening the first time on the build from 2011-09-27 (Built from http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/1f800c226837).

First time, 3 updates showed up when I was actively using the computer.

Second time, Firefox was left open overnight and at the morning there was no update windows open. I used it for a few more minutes and left the computer again, and when I came back there were 10 update windows open (see screenshot - there were all at the same x/y centered at the screen, I just spread them to take the pic).

I have experienced this. I have been running the same build constantly for several days with two browser windows. There are now two software update windows, but they don't seem to be multiplying when left unattended ;).

Will note if happens again.

I'm sure I've seen this issue with a release 32 bit FF 42.x on Windows 8.1 with two tabs in different windows at least one time since release 43 update notifications. Opened both tabs in the same window and moved one tab to a new windows on a second monitor.

I can try to reproduce the issue this weekend.

HI, I have seen this today again on my desktop. But I do not know, how to preproduce. I'll attach a screen shot of this.

What I did (only FF related):
- open FF after windows start
- browse a site
- added a new tab
- moved new tab to a second screen
- did something else and see the two notify windows in task bar later.

Between start and update notify windows was between 30-45 minutes I think.

I did not notice the duplicated update windows since release 47.

This is an intermittent and I am quite certain it is still present so reopening. This will be fixed by bug 893505.

This should be fixed by the new doorhanger notification implemented in bug 893505.
