Steps to reproduce:

I have about 15 tabs open, and when using Tab Groups (and moving some tabs to a new group), it seems that some of the tabs thumbnails are simply wrong - they all display the thumbnails of another tab. When opening the tab itself, everything is OK, but the thumbnail itself is not - which makes identifying the correct tab to go to difficult.

Indeed, this is an issue, has been reported already. As specified in the original bug, you can try and set "gfx.canvas.azure.enabled" to "false" from about:config.
