Seen while looking at trunk crash stats. Although this stack is seen across other versions, there was a recent spike in the trunk starting with the 2011100200 build. http://tinyurl.com/42u3tjg is a recent query showing the crashes. A few days ago Nightly was OK when starting with over 250 Tabs (using TM+). Now when I start Nightly, with a measly 170 Tabs, it crashes; whereas Aurora and FF Release do not. I'm enclosing a Windbg Log. ----- I get this far (Line # 131 in WinDbg Log): ... I have no problem with FF 7.01 or Aurora but Nightly still crashes after today's Update. I wish we got ONE "about:crashes" Report PER Crash but here is the List: Report ID Date Submitted dead870e-6e79-4c2b-8ba8-0fa1920cf318 10/6/201110:53 f1f4114f-4b52-453e-93ac-620c74d31570 10/6/201110:53 0396ae6a-a529-4a2d-a07b-20b21d40e896 10/6/201110:45 d2498dee-0978-4150-a1b6-9a9137b8bdda 10/6/201110:45 0d1bad9e-2e64-4b88-bef2-bfa96db82eff 10/6/201110:45 fee93c3b-f35d-437a-8825-587351a2fa95 10/6/201110:45 bp-37ddbb87-2af9-4958-aec6-b7c582111006 10/6/201110:42 ac6ad2fd-f290-40fd-8bd4-21059ef3c099 10/6/201110:41 f26a033a-ae83-4f9a-8743-615476081659 10/6/201110:31 c2e7b03e-a641-49e7-a5b0-86ea2bd63bfd 10/6/201110:31 cec360b3-32aa-4417-bc93-aae0d368a775 10/6/201110:31 e58dd5ef-2940-4e5f-82c5-486ca1d60472 10/6/201110:31 6b6efd21-e475-4692-938e-698611e28443 10/6/201110:11 I figure Nightly crashed at about "10/6/201110:45" and not again since then, so anything after that time might be good; I included a short list of the prior ones but it did not crash during those times.
In Comment 3 I complained that starting Nightly "with a measly 170 Tabs" causes a crash. I updated Nightly a half hour ago and tried to open it with over 215 Tabs and it works fine. I have clicked on the last 100 about:crashes Reports but none are available (likely due to Comment 5 and Bug 692149), thus I am unable to confirm that THIS (691462) Bug Report is resolved but it _might_ be. If there is someone else that did not recently, and does not now, have the npmozax.dll plugin installed (and thus 100's of un-"bp-"-able Reports) would they click on their last few Reports and confirm that they have not had any crashes as a result of "[@ AppendUTF16toUTF8(nsAString_internal const&, nsACString_internal&) ]". If there is success for the next few days then I imagine that this issue is resolved. Thank you.

very low rate crash.
Whiteboard: [startupcrash]
I have been getting this *a lot* in the past two days on Nightly (it started on October 16th for me). I have 47 crashes in my about:crashes list, of which most are throttled. Unthrottled are the following reports: https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/232cf644-fda8-4da4-9a4c-9db772141017 https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/00ef8076-b4d2-48e9-a3aa-626602141017 https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/59fe3c7d-1843-41ed-b120-ec26b2141017 I assume that this is somewhat related to the plugin container since the Flash plugin crashes on every other page. And then sometimes, instead of the plugin crashing, Firefox just crashes itself. I can almost always reproduce this by watching a video on YouTube at the moment.

I'm marking this bug as WORKSFORME as bug crashlog signature didn't appear from a long time (over half year).
