698419 - Invoke the virtual keyboard on access of AwesomeBar under landscape orientation

Not sure if this is a design decision, but should the virtual keyboard be invoked under landscape orientation? Currently the AwesomeBar is highlighted with no caret nor virtual keyboard unless it is tapped again.

Unlike on the phones, it does show the keyboard right away on a tablet.
Actually I think I like this behavior. On the phones we don't have enough screen space, and typing is painful, so the history/bookmarks are probably more important than a keyboard, while on the tablets there is enough space for both.

Madhava, was that a UX decision to not show keyboard automatically in landscape on the phones?

I hope some of that can be alleviated with bug 699204 I just filed
