Note: This feature is not included in the scope for the launch of Firefox Live. It should be implemented *after* that.

As part of upgrading users on old versions of Firefox (< Firefox 4), we'd like to add the persistent upgrade message that's already implemented and localized on mozilla.org/firefox . This bug shouldn't require any additional strings to be localized.

Timing: On production by November 18. The persistent upgrade message will be added to some other Mozilla pages around that date (see bug 699895), so we'd like to include this in a Firefox Live release around then.

Chrissie, please provide relevant bug numbers and the existing code repo for the persistent messaging so we can use those for reference. Thanks!

Adding Pascal & Steven:

Pascal, can you help William & Team implement the existing l10n version of the persistent upgrade message that we run on the /firefox site across the localized versions of Firefox Live. (for history See Bug 685679)

Steven, can you help William & Team do the same for the existing en-US version. (for history See Bug 668101)

Sorry for the delay - I've been offline recently and wasn't able to check in on this to help it get live by November 18.

Steven and Pascal, can you help with adding this persistent messaging to production on Firefox Live by end of next week (12/9)?

From comment 1, it seems that the we can use the existing l10n version, and I'd like to resolve this bug soon as it blocks bug 699895. Thanks!

Steven, can you give an estimate on when this can be completed?

Laura M reminded me today that this is one of the remaining blockers to bug 699895, the upgrade campaign for 3.6 users. Thanks!
The Firefox Live site is no longer live.
