The last couple of weeks (which must have been tb8 betas, and now tb8 release), I get a beachball for around 20-30s almost every time I try to do anything in Thundebird. Whether it's navigating the interface, or writing an email. It's driving me insane. I don't think my setup is weird in any kind of way. Two IMAP connections, one Dovecot and one GMail. Standard Mac OS X w/latest updates. But then again bug 672913 has never been fixed for me either...
Allan does anything show up in spincontrol.app (in dev/applications/perfs) when you are beachballing ?

(In reply to Wayne Mery (:wsmwk) from comment #3) > Allan, in safe mode also? Yep.
Also in safe-mode with Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.7; rv:11.0a1) Gecko/20111109 Thunderbird/11.0a1
btw, left the Spin Control app run while using tb. It's "only" 5-10s hangs, but it happens just about every 2 minutes for me when I use tb... This is from the newest daily btw.

[has stack trace] but it doesn't have symbols
This is just through spincontrol.app. I guess I forgot to download the debug symbols.
hmm, or does my download already have them. How can I tell?
(In reply to Allan Beaufour from comment #8) > This is just through spincontrol.app. I guess I forgot to download the debug > symbols. I don't think they are available that way. I would love irving or bienvenu to have a look though.

No, I think you're just not getting all the symbols - I don't think nsStopWatch is really the right symbol for that stack...nsStopwatch::Stop() (in XUL) + 1336421 is pretty far away from nsStopWatch. Maybe it's js - I really don't know.
This stopped happening a few days after I reported it. No idea why... It has upgraded a few times and I'm now running "Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.7; rv:11.0a1) Gecko/20111123 Thunderbird/11.0a1"

(In reply to Ludovic Hirlimann [:Usul] from comment #14) > Allan was this on new profile ? No, old one
(In reply to Allan Beaufour from comment #13) > This stopped happening a few days after I reported it. No idea why... in that casee, WFM
