The number one hit on google for "Thunderbird system requirements" is http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/system-requirements/ which still lists Thunderbird 3.1 as the most current release. This page should automatically redirect to the system requirements page of the most current release. Currently this is http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/8.0/system-requirements/
Maybe this can be overhauled together with bug 701555?
