From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; 0.9) Gecko/20010302 BuildID: When uninstalling a Mozilla build and subsequently, without rebooting, installing Mozilla again (e.g. a newer build), this version of mozilla cannot be uninstalled properly. I figured, this is due to the uninstaller being deleted after uninstall - upon the next booting of the system. So if you uninstall and immediately reinstall Mozilla, the uninstaller still gets deleted upon the next boot up of the system, regardless of the new version installed. As a result, the new version cannot be uninstalled properly. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Uninstall mozilla via Settings / Software (sorry, I have a german windows, therefore not knowing the exact english words used in the english start menu) 2. Without reboot install Mozilla again 3. Reboot 4. Try to uninstall Mozilla again Actual Results: System tells me, software could not be uninstalled properly. Remove from list of installed programs? Expected Results: Should uninstall properly This bug is somewhat similar to 66498

Kai, thanks for filing this bug. I knew about this problem a while back, but was lazy to fix it since I thought it wasn't that important, but just rather annoying. The fix has been checked in. It should work in either win9x or winnt systems.
