Firefox is not performing as well as Safari and Chrome on Mac.

Boris, this bug was filed separately specifically because it doesn't seem clear that it's the same problem as bug 714573 : Mac and Linux use quite different rendering paths. (Mac now uses Skia, Linux is still on Cairo; and there could be a back-end issue at play too). Reopening unless there's a specific reason to dupe.

Afaict tell the performance problems with impress.js are caused by invalidating too much and thus a layout problem and not a graphics one.
I see this on windows as well
OS: Mac OS X → All
On Windows, still not as smooth as Chrome -- even with a build having bug 524925 included.

Yes, but I didn't dup it to bug 714573. I dupped it to a bug that's specifically about performance on this page on Mac.

But then comment 4 came across and confused things anyway, of course. So now we have three bugs (this one, bug 714573 and bug 715037) with no clear interrelationship between them.

If this is the Windows Version of the impress.ja Perf Issue then

I can confirm the Issue with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:12.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/12.0 ID:20120420145725

But it's WFM with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:22.0) Gecko/20130320 Firefox/22.0 ID:20130320031103 CSet: 8156df33b757 and on par with Chrome 27.
On a core i3-370M 2.4GHZ and a AMD HD5470M GPU , Chrome 26 feels smoother than the Nightly.
OS: win7 x64.
Severity: normal → S3

Well, this demo is certainly smooth now. Unfortunately, it has some strange artifacts; I'll file a bug for those.
