User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Ubuntu; X11; Linux x86_64; rv:9.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/9.0.1 Build ID: 20111221214834 Steps to reproduce: Go to page https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/firefox-sync/ Actual results: It reads: > This add-on has been removed by its author. This is confusing because it leads users to think that the Sync project was stopped and that Sync is not available anymore. See the page http://www.geckozone.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=101303 (in French) for a timely example. Expected results: It should read something like: > This add-on has been integrated in Firefox. You can safely delete it. Or anything that clearly says that Sync is still alive but the add-on is not required anymore.
Fix the French page too, the link to Sync add-on sends to a page that doesn't exit anymore. http://www.mozilla.org/fr/mobile/sync/
(In reply to Loic from comment #1) > Fix the French page too, the link to Sync add-on sends to a page that > doesn't exit anymore. http://www.mozilla.org/fr/mobile/sync/ Loic, this is a different page on a different website and different people will need to work on it. Therefore it requires a separate bug. Apparently that was already reported in bug 675289.

Ever confirmed: true
Summary: Firefox Sync addon should be flagged as "Integrated in Firefox" rather than "emoved by its author" → Firefox Sync addon should be flagged as "Integrated in Firefox" rather than "removed by its author"
If there are Mozilla websites linking to the Sync add-on, they should be updated. We aren't going to make a special status message on AMO for the discontinued Sync add-on.
There are also many non-Mozilla linking to this add-on. See http://bit.ly/yl6sr0 This bug could also mean including a longer description for all discontinued add-ons.
Sync may be something of a special case. Is there a pattern of rolling addons into firfox itself?
I've had a similar issue with some of my addons, such as F1, which is replaced by a new addon called Firefox Share, which will be replaced when integrated into Firefox. Having some way to deal with this in AMO would be awesome.
this is edgecase enough that I'm going to wontfix it.
