Steps to reproduce:
Nothing paritcular, i just opened thunderbird. (i don't have any extension installed)
Actual results:
When i opened it, the main tab was not opened: i couldn't see my folders and massages..
i also tried uninstall thunderbird and reinstall it (deleting all the files on the PC)... but nothing had changed

What is appearing when you choose View ➙ Folders ? Choose All and see if they appear.
What about View->Layout->Folder Pane?
Also, anything in Tools->Error console?

i've had already tried with your solution... but nothing happened... i've always the same problem.. :(
Then it looks like bug 707329.
