We will be working on automating the following three simple tests, first:

I'll also reach out to the Desktop QA team to hopefully get a set of MozMill tests written for about:home, which Selenium can't (easily?) touch.

Yep; I can't verify it on the Metrics side, but from the front-end, the right JS and POST events are happening:
