Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:10.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/10.0
Build ID: 20120129021758
Steps to reproduce:
I'm running Windows 7 x64 SP1 with all the latest updates applied. I updated to the lastest Versions of Firefox (10.0), Flash (11.1.102.55) and the latest Version of MirandaIM (0.9.42). I also created a clean new Profile on Firefox with only the Flash Plugin enabled and an empty installation of MirandaIM with now additional Plugins.
I just start Firefox normally and visit e.g. YouTube or any other Website using Flash.
When I want to send somebody a message, so I bring up my MirandaIM conact list by simply clicking on the tray.
Actual results:
As MirandaIM is docked to the right side of my screen, the Firefox Window gets resized. At this moment Firefox simply freezes and can't be clicked anymore. When I am playing a YouTube Video at that moment, the sound is continuing to play.
The only solution is to kill the process using the Task Manager and start all over again.
Expected results:
The Firefox window should be just resized without freezing. Which is also working quite perfectly normal on any website without flash.
I can also reproduce this problem on another machine with exactly the same software setup besides it's Windows 7 x86. I wasn't able to produce this on my VirtualMachine with Windows XP SP3, but also lattest Firefox, Flash and MirandaIm.
Also disabling the Windows 7 Aero won't solve the problem, also occurs in Windows 7 basic.
I also created a Video and uploaded it to YouTube showing the exact steps which I described here also proofing my setup (Versions, plugins etc).
Here is the screen capture Video (720p): http://youtu.be/a37waE9jEOI
Futhermore I created a memory dump of my Firefox right after it froze and uploaded it to RapidShare.
Here is the process dump: https://rapidshare.com/files/2764365269/Firefox_Freeze_Dump.7z
I hope I provided all the necessary information you guys need. I would really appriciate a fix here.
And in general, keep up the good work! Thank you for Firefox! :)

got the exact same problem.
as long as the tab with the flashplugin (e.g. youtube-video) is on top and I resize the firefox window indirectly by opening up the miranda sidebar (contact list) firefox freezes and I have to wait about a minute or so until it shows the crash screen and I can reload the page.
if I am currently in another tab while a youtube video is running and I open or close mirandas contactlist, nothing crashes.
this is really annoying if you are watching a video and out of routine are pressing the blinking systray-icon to see what has been said in chat or so and suddenly everything freezes :(
my configuration is pretty much the same as kr0k0f4nt's therefore I am not repeating all this.
but if needed, I am happy to supply more and detailed information.
thanks in advance!
The problem also still exists in Firefox 13.0 ... :(
The only little workaround I found is to kill the plugin-container.exe process instead of the firefox.exe. Firefox will unfreeze then telling that the plugin crashed and offering to reload the website.
I would finally really appriciate some assistance here.

problem seems to be solved with yesterdays update.
thanks a lot
I still cannot confirm a fix so far. As also with the latest flash 11.3 and the latest Firefox 13.0.1 this problem still occurs, although it's not a easy to reproduce as it was before. But still happens with a new instance of firefox all the time.

kr0k0f4nt, thanks for the really detailed bug report. If you let the browser sit, does it come back from hanging? Are there any crash reports associated with this hang when you go to about:crashes?
Status: UNCONFIRMED → NEW
Ever confirmed: true
Hello Juan,
fist of all thank you very much for taking a look into this issue! Sorry for the delayed reply, but I wasn't at home the last days.
I now let the browser hanging and it takes about a minute before I get a dialog from the browser, here's a screenshot:
http://s14.directupload.net/images/120628/4tgde4cq.jpg
The dialog says something like:
"A script on the site is propably damaged or not responding anymore. You can now stop or resume the script to see if the script is able to finish."
So I clicked on resume ("Weiter ausführen") and the browser was responding again. And you can see the message that the Adobe Flash Plugin crashed.
The related crash report this try are these 2 I found in about:crashes:
http://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/bp-e8d0caa8-bacb-4acf-9077-c0de42120628
http://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/bp-24ddf788-5c83-4a1e-a1b3-0ede72120628
They both have the same timestamp.
I hope this infomration is useful to you. If you need anymore details, I would be happy to give them to you. Just let me know :):
Best Regards

Thanks Martin. This is very useful. This provides a reproducible test case for at least one bug we have been evaluating, bug 763896
Hey Juan, I just replied to smadayag in the other bug (763896) as he wasn't able to reproduce it.

Ah another thing I tested is that I also used my TV instead of my 5:4 (1280x1024) display. So the issues is also reproduceable in 1366x768 and 1920x1080. So this is not resolution related. Just to mention before somebody comes up with an idea like this :)

Resolving old bugs which are likely not relevant any more, since NPAPI plugins are deprecated.
