Sorry if this isn't the right place for this bug, but I don't see a dc ops property yet. dmoore, I added a request (on the wiki page) for a KVM switch for the minis in scl3 to help lighten the load on the dc ops folks there. The idea being that if a machine *has* to be crash carted, dc ops can just hook it up to the KVM and no one form relops needs to come onsite. It's my understanding that we have some kicking around in sjc1 that might be suitable for this. I'm open to other solutions for remote crash carting of the minis as dc ops sees fit, though, so feel free to propose something different.
I am a fan of the 0u PoE Raritan ones. http://www.raritan.com/products/kvm-over-ip/kx-ii-101/ Those tend to be easier to move around and get the job done.
I think that's exactly what zandr had in mind, yes.
It turns out that our requirements for the minis are that the kvm do 1600x1200 (due to the EDIDs attached to them).

This adds the additional requirement of supporting DVI-D, instead of VGA. DVI-D IP KVMs are very scarce. I'm evaluating individual DVI-D to VGA adapters as another solution.

Since dcops has taken over the hands on stuff, not sure this is necessary anymore. I'm happy to R/WONTFIX it if you guys are.
I'm on the same boat as :arr and dont think this is necessary anymore. Please reopen if you believe otherwise. thanks, Van
