726579 - Strange lego-like image flashes when hiding keyboard on HTC evo

When the keyboard is brought up, for example, when typing in a url, and then hidden, a gold/brown image, similar to a 2D lego block, is flashed on the screen (see screenshots). It flashes for about a half second, then disappears. It's mostly an annoyance, but sometimes it does stay for longer, and can be visually distracting.

This did not used to happen, so it seems to be a regression in the last 2 weeks or so.

Also, I should mention that the rendering artifact on the awesome in CAPTURE 1 (attachment 596674 [details]) is due to the software that I used to capture this behavior, called droid@screen - it only takes about 1 frame/second, so sometimes it captures in the middle of repainting.
