2001032205 linux In both mail and news, everything under the Subject column is now displayed in "non-bold" - normal - font. Under the other columns, things seem to be correctly displayed (bold for unread / "non-bold" for read.)
Is this blake's change to XUL?

Both. I doubt this one is yours, Blake. Before this bug entered the scene, there were heaps of character and mail related checkins. I think perhaps tao or bienvenue may have a clue..

this is still happening in the mac build (at least in 2001032308, classic theme, macOS 9.1). for those trying to identify the change that caused this to start happening, it is a very slight improvement over two nightly builds ago, when none of the columns for new messages were presented in bold. nightly builds as of about a week ago were not exhibiting this problem at all (i.e. the bold of all columns for new mail appeared correctly).
This was fixed for me when I rebuilt my Mozilla. Please try tomorrow's nightly and confirm.

This is still a problem in 2001032805. However, it looks as if international characters are bolded fine enough (æ, ø, å and the likes).

Build 2001-03-28-04: NT4, Mac 9.04 Build 2001-03-28-08: Linux RH 6.2 It appears fixed on my systems for mail and news messages. Joakim: How is this not working for you? Instead of bold does it appear faint? What type of account are you viewing (IMAP, POP, News...)? What folder is selected? Does the same problem occur in a new profile?
All messages look alike, normal font type. The problem is there in all cases, IMAP, mails downloaded through POP3 and when I try creating a new profile. No mails are bolded, the only thing that happens is that the international characters in new mails are bolded.
Joakim, what platform are you using (win, mac, linux) and what OS version?
I'm using Linux 2.4.3 (Debian, Afterstep windowmanager), XFree 4.0.2 w/truetype fonts. The problem is still there in build 2001041610.
I am using Windows 2000 and this problem still exists in build 2001050704. Susie
Bold and unbold text in mailnews still work correct here (current linux CVS.) Are anyone still seeing this problem?
