RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 726415

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.7; rv:10.0.1) Gecko/20120208 Firefox/10.0.1 SeaMonkey/2.7.1
Build ID: 20120208222043

Steps to reproduce:

As a normal part of my daily browsing almost since tabs were introduced I've had my new tab preference set to "last page visited". This means that if I'm looking at a tab & I want to go somewhere from it but also want to keep a copy of the page I'm on now for future reference (e.g. if there are two sets of instructions you want to flip back and forth quickly between) I can do it quickly.

Actual results:

Since the last update, when you make a new tab with the "last page visited" option set, rather than giving you the tab you are currently reading it gives you whatever tab you happen to have most recently had to load from the internet. For me this is usually a gmail message which may be private and is certainly cumbersome / slow to load. But at any rate it is *not* the page I want and I have to copy & paste the URL and then wait for *that* to load.

Expected results:

The tab I was just looking at should have replicated when I pushed the new tab button. As I said, this has worked correctly for years.
Severity: normal → major
I can confirm the change in behavior.
(I didn't necessarily look for a range, just that the behavior changed.)

Works in the old manner:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:10.0a1) Gecko/20110928 Firefox/10.0a1 SeaMonkey/2.7a1

Changed behavior:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:10.0) Gecko/20120129 Firefox/10.0 SeaMonkey/2.7
> (I didn't necessarily look for a range, just that the behavior changed.)

Bug 692423 - Remove "Last page visited" options from Browser preferences, or reimplement functionality.
Bug 726415 - Ctrl-T / New Tab since SeaMonkey v2.7 duplicates last fetched page instead of currently viewed page/tab.
