Adobe has just reveled it's "Shadow" application [1] and Opera support remote debugging for a long time.
There is a big need for a remote debugging solution due to the mobile world. This become critical for Mozilla too with the B2G rising.
It could be a nice idea to work with Opera (and Adobe?) to standardize their Scope protocol used with Opera DragonFly [2].
Maybe a first implementation of their current spec [3] in Gecko could be a good first step.

Jim is working on a remote debugging protocol already, so this bug is a duplicate of existing implementations.
