User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.7; rv:11.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/11.0 Build ID: 20120312181643 Steps to reproduce: I have master password enabled with FIPS 140 on Thunderbird on OS X 10.7.3. Actual results: Since upgrading Thunderbird to version 11, I am prompted twice to enter the master password. Expected results: I should have to enter the password just once. This is what was happening prior to Thunderbird 11.
Disabling FIPS 140 results in having to enter the master password just once, but I would prefer to have FIPS 140 enabled.
This is very annoying. What version did you upgrade from ?

From 10.0.2
(In reply to Lupin from comment #3) > From 10.0.2 Can you try to find when it regressed using http://www.rumblingedge.com/2009/02/24/howto-find-regression-windows-through-manual-binary-search/ ?
I am a little bit afraid to go back and forth between versions on my main machine (especially given that what's between 10.0.2 and 11 are alphas and betas) and right now I don't have a spare test machine to try. But if I find another machine, I could try that.

The issue has been resolved, don't remember in which version, but entering the master password works fine as of version 17.0.4.

thanks for the update

I am having this exact problem with TB 17.0.5, Windows 7 64-bit, FIPS enabled. Not an upgrade, but uninstalled a previous (unknown) version of TB from computer months ago, so probably not an entirely fresh install. Sorry if this should be a new bug report....
And now I am having the same issue again with 17.0.7. The current beta 23.0b1 is ok.

The same issue in 17.0.8. Reverting to 23b1 fixes the issue.
This seems fixed in 24.0.1 (probably in 24.0 too)
