I tried this in Navin's Linux system and I see the selection clearly. No
overlapping with previous/next messages.  My Linux system is still hosed coz of
some network problems. :(

Looks OK on my system using apr26 commercial trunk build, linuz rh6.2. 
I'll mark it worksforme, and if anyone is still seeing it with a current build
they can reopen. I'll wait awhile for comments before marking verified.

This bug isn't fixed with 2001042608/Linux.

Selection in thread view covers from the baseline of previous message
to the baseline of current message. Lower part of 'g' or 'y' isn't selected.

Hmm... didn't look too bad in the screen dump.  It really shows up when you
highlight a line... the highlight only takes up about 3/4 of the characters, and
chops off the bottom.  On a large folder you can get horrendous overlapping.  

This seems to be xfs related.. If you disable xfs you get a smaller font, which
looks OK.  I think mozilla seems to have hard coded the depth of the font, and
it can't cope with getting a bigger one.

I'll try to format a screen dump which shows it better.
