Details
1. Play an example sound file, like this one: upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/c8/Example.ogg
2. Right-click on the player area, note that there's a 'Show statistics' menu item and select 'Hide Controls'.
3. Right-click on the player area again and see that the 'Show statistics' menu item has vanished.

According to http://mxr.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/source/browser/base/content/nsContextMenu.js#438 this looks like it's intended behaviour.
Can anyone tell me why we did that?

The statistics are part of the controls and it would require some changes that we're not comfortable with.
