OK, I've got a draft of this copy ready. I based it pretty heavily off the landing page, but I changed the flow a bit and added some things so it works better as an email and includes the elements from the previous bug. I thought I'd use a Google Doc for this one, just to shake things up a bit and keep them interesting:

For the design piece: 

- solid background.  No fade or gradient. 
- 600 pixels wide 
- height is flexible 
- all html/email friendly fonts

Hey Folks

Now that we have a firm date for the Alpha 1 launch (August 28th), please can we get this template design back on track?

Final copy will have to wait for the moment as there are still too many unknowns, so lets fill with some placeholder text. I'll provide final text during the beginning of August.

In the meantime, I'd like to get the design complete for this email based on the Product Page design: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?id=614904

• Email will go out on August 28th
• Recipients will be English speaking users only - Nightly, Aurora and Beta users signed up to our Firefox newsletter communications
• Regions are UK, USA, Canada, Ireland, Australia
• Objective of email is to (i) activate them on the Marketplace - i.e. signup, (ii) download and/or purchase an application
• Launch goals are to (i) reach 750K users for testing, (ii) get positive reviews from this group and industry thinkers, and (iii) Get feedback on the Marketplace to aid and improve future releases.
• Email content requirements: 9 featured apps, made up of three from each of the following categories (i) Games (ii) Productivity (iii) News & Media
• Requires Above the fold CTA - to visit the Marketplace (as per the Product Page)
• Requires Value Prop text at the top of the email, followed by three benefits and their corresponding iconography: 
a. The future: Be one of the first to try the Firefox Marketplace, and provide your feedback to make it even better!
b. Take your apps with you; use them on your computer or Android device
c. Download Apps that install, look and feel like native apps
