We are turning off geriatric master. Please turn off the following machines and put them into long term storage. I don't think we should get rid of all of these machines as they are really hard to find if we ever need them again for similar purposes. These are the slaves that need to be turned off. Locations are approximate and based on the last information I have bm-xserve01 -- sjc1 bm-xserve02 -- sjc1 bm-xserve03 -- sjc1 bm-xserve04 -- sjc1 bm-xserve05 -- sjc1 g4-leopard-1 -- mtv1 third floor server room p3-linux03 -- mtv1 third floor server room p3-win03 -- mtv1 third floor server room
The xserves are set to be scrapped when sjc1 closes and the others when we move the gear in mtv1 into scl3. We don't have any sort of warranty on this hardware, so we wouldn't be putting them into production anywhere. I also don't think we have any long term storage for dead machines (we recycle them). Do you have a specific use in mind for them and a location (office?) where they should be shipped to?

I did just double check with dcops. We don't have any kind of long term storage for old hardware. All of the xserves are slated to be recycled or donated.
Hosts removed from nagios.
I will place the MTV1 machines at my desk for a few days then give it to desktop to decom
Per https://mana.mozilla.org/wiki/display/websites/Killing+sjc1+hosts please halt these hosts and mark them as decomissioned in inventory. Assign to me if you want me to do so - I don't want to step on feet.
g4-leopard01 - I can't find this system in 3/MDF p3-linux03 - I've removed it and brought it down to my desk also changed inventory p3-win03 - I've removed it and brought it down to my desk also changed inventory
Thanks to dustin I was able to find g4-leopard01 and decom it
Matt, what's left to be done for machines in mtv1 in this bug? Those in scj1 will just be handed with the dcops cleanout of sjc1.
The bm-xserve boxes got recycled with the closing of sjc1. Jake could you make sure that the 3 machines in comment 6 get delivered to desktop for secure deletion and close this bug out?

These 3 machines are in desktops possession (Vien and Jen know where they are). I'm turning this bug over to desktop to close out when disk wipes are complete.

Hey nej or vien can you let me know where these are?

its on the wall near henry behind the big TV stand. I'll put a post-it with the bug number on it.
I dont see any hard drives in either server. Are we supposed to E-Waste these machines?
Whiteboard: [waiting for user ack]
Henry you can add these to the e-waste pile.
