Details

(Whiteboard: [dupeme])

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:11.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/11.0
Build ID: 20120312181643

Steps to reproduce:

I am browsing the Web and wish to send a link via email I select the "Send Link..." command in Firefox's context menu.

Thunderbird is not currently running, but is launched in order to provide the Message Compose Window with the link embedded in the email body.

Actual results:

When it comes time for Thunderbird to save the draft of this email, each time it will produce the error messages that it cannot save the draft (see related bug #724522).

When finally sending the email, Thunderbird does prompt for the Master Password, and sends the email and moves the message to the "Sent" folder without any problem.

Expected results:

I suspect the reason for the error on saving drafts is that Master Password is enabled and Thunderbird cannot save the message because the Master Password has not been entered.

Thunderbird should have prompted the user to enter the Master Password, if the feature is enabled, before attempting to save the draft message so that the draft message can be saved.
Blocks: tb-drafts
Summary: If the user sends an email via the "send link" feature in the browser, while Thunderbird is not running and the Master Password is enabled but has not been entered, Thunderbird will not be able to save the draft and produces an error message → "send link" feature in the browser when Thunderbird is not running and Master Password is enabled but has not been entered, Thunderbird won't save draft and produces an error message

Mark do you still see this issue?

I just tested it in 68.2.1 and I do not see this issue. When opening the compose window from the "Send link" browser feature while Thunderbird was not running, the master password prompt appears when it came time to save the draft.
