Steps to reproduce:

I wrote a mail as a reply.


Actual results:

There was a (German) line that said:
> Am 09.04.2012 12:46, schrieb Max Mustermann:

But that is a wrong translation: There must not be a comma in the sentence.


Expected results:

It should have read:
> Am 09.04.2012, um 12:46 Uhr, schrieb Max Mustermann:
or
> Am 09.04.2012 schrieb Max Mustermann um 12:46 Uhr:

I think the best version would be:

Or using strftime (“%%s” is the original author):

Using a 24 chars long name (the longest name I could find in my inbox) and the normal quoting style of Thunderbird (“>>” for a quote in a quote), you can have up to eight nested quotes without a line break.

I meant “%-H.%M Uhr”, of course.

AFAIK, it's impossible code-wise to remove the comma in a localization.

Sure, it has to be done by the translators.

What I'm saying is that AFAIK they (we, as I *am* in the German localizer group) can't do that as the code doesn't allow it from all I know!
Also, we cannot restructure the sentences, as much as I'd love to.

Okay, then this is an issue that has to be fixed.

Did find a bug about exactly this already filed, so setting to NEW:

These strings compose the reply header in German, but Thunderbird enforces a comma between the second and the first string. But we need this without a comma. If we stay to the spoken language, we also have to add a word between date and time.
