(Reporter: u93378, Unassigned)
Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:11.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/11.0
Build ID: 20120312181643
Steps to reproduce:
Added to my address book an address from a large organization that gives namestrings as "Bar, Foo" for someone named "Foo Bar."
Actual results:
I get a contact with name "Bar, Foo"
Expected results:
Ideally, Thunderbird should notice this pattern and offer to make a contact with the namestring "Foo Bar"
Very large organizations, including the U.S. government, seem to think it's necessary to reverse the names of senders, and I have also seen this pattern
Bar, Foo (branch of company)
Thunderbird will add these in their original forms to the contact book. It would be a great enhancement if TB noticed the commas and offered to do some fixup.

Did you use the import tool? or add them one-by-one?

I am adding them one-by-one --- capturing the addresses from emails I receive.
I know that this format of address is wrong, but it seems impossible to stamp it out.

We might also look at the email address to make the guess. From what i've seen first.last@ is the norm even when real name is reversed (which sure is annoying!).
