AFAICT, this machine should have the latest mozilla-build and the same version of Visual Studio w/ patches that we're using for mozilla-central (Visual Studio 2010 SP1?).
Also, I guess this should be a 64-bit VM so it could be used for Win64 builds.
Virtualization folks -

Hopefully this can probably be a clone of sea-vm-win32-2 being set up in 740613, once that's up. I don't know much about installing mozilla-build and visual studio, so we'll work that out when the host is up -- I expect this will be a similar problem to what Callek will need to solve, so maybe we can optimize there.

If we really need 64-bit, we may be in a bit more trouble - we don't have any such VM images.

Brian, can you let us know definitively which bitlength to set up?

64-bit Windows is not as high of a priority for us as 32-bit Windows. We can file a separate bug and do that later, if it would move things along.

I propose to go ahead with the 32 bit VM now.

We could get an additional 64 bit VM later - having them as separate VMs might be good.

For what its worth, if you need MSVS 2010, I suggest you collapse the disks to one C:\ rather than spread to C:\ D:\ and E:\ like SeaMonkey will use, *or* expand C:\ at the least. afaik (and remember reading about) VC2010 needs more [free?] space on C:\ than we have in the base VM image I'll be using.

The blocker here is me, I *will* have this ready for IT to clone to your use by EOW, hopefully much sooner.
Callek, ping?

I didn't know that, on the machine that you have provided, when logging in with rdesktop as user ctlbld, that actually gives me a separate ADDITIONAL login session.

I was unaware that the startup scripts had created a kind of background session.

That led to data corruption recently, when my manual startup of the scripts was racing with the background job against the same files on disk.

In order to fix it, I disabled the startup script, and I'm starting up manually after reboot.
Yeah, mozilla releng uses VNC to avoid that.
