If we want to run rapid betas through release automation, we need to work around the snippet explosion that will happen. bug 717214 did some one-off work optimizing snippets by adding symlinks in a bunch of places. I spoke with Rail about this a bit, and he thinks we should be able to do some snippet optimization as part of the snippet generation logic. Possibly by adding that feature to patcher, possibly through some other means.

Probably needs to be integrated with the mozharness updates script from bug 748798.
