I've noticed this with the url testcase.
Make sure you have Flash or Tap to Play enabled
Steps to reproduce:
- Go to http://people.mozilla.com/~mwargers/tests/plugins/flash/flashembed_wrappedinlink.html
- Tap on the second or 3rd Flash object (after enabled Flash on that page)
- You are being redirected to google
- Tap on the Android back button
- Tap again on the Android back button
Expected result:
- You are on http://people.mozilla.com/~mwargers/tests/plugins/flash/flashembed_wrappedinlink.html again without the virtual keyboard
Actual result:
- You are on http://people.mozilla.com/~mwargers/tests/plugins/flash/flashembed_wrappedinlink.html again with the virtual keyboard open
This reminds me of bug 749120.

I can reproduce it with the Samsung Galaxy SII.
I guess you need to have Plugins set to Tap to Play to reproduce this. I haven't been able to reproduce when Plugins are enabled by default.

yes, when I switch Plugins to "Tap to Play", then I can reproduce this.
I wonder if the VKB is opened because of Flash or Google's search field. Can you test whether the VKB problem still happens if the Flash content redirects to a web page that does not open the VKB?

The VKB problem is not there when the next web page doesn't open the VKB.

This is a simpler version, instead of going to google, this goes to a data url with <input autofocus>:

This seems to be working now, I guess this was fixed along with the fix for bug 749120.
