As per release-testing today, Google Play offered an update served to a 5.3-inch display, such as the Galaxy Note which resulted in XUL (Phone UI). The Galaxy Note should be served Native (Phone UI).

Based on size alone, I would expect the Native (Phone UI) to be used on this device.
It could be argued that we have not tested the Note extensively and it's risky to take for Native Fennec, but the same argument is true for XUL Fennec.
What do we need to do to get Native installing on the Note 5.3 from the Market? Just a screenSize change in the manifest?

madhava, we nominate to make the call on whether this should get native or xul

I think it's clear that we'd prefer the Native phone UI over the XUL phone UI, for all phone-UI devices. The original patches from bug 719560 did exactly that, and we only changed them to work around an automation issue.

See bug 752681 for details on this. (That bug should maybe be duplicated here.) We need a screenSize change in the manifest, but it's tricky to make this without breaking our automation.

Native Phone UI on 5" devices for sure vs. the tablet UI. Might be slightly odd, but no odder than anything else on a 5" device. Definitely makes more sense that the 10" tablet UI.
