Tested on a Galaxy Nexus with the May 7 nightly. STR: 1. Load maps.google.com in portrait 2. Rotate to landscape 3. Pan the map Expected results: smooth panning Actual results: map pans, but the entire page flickers white while doing so. Occasionally the page stays white when panning stop.s
Seeing as how we might not get a mobile friendly Google Maps for who knows how long, IMO we should fix any issues with high-ranking and highly viewed sites.

I'm not convinced that we will have a large audience for Google maps as a Web app on Android as there is already a native Google maps app that comes with the platform. What is our maps story on B2G?

We should be getting the mobile version. bug 742125. Does this happen if we use Phony and the Nexus one UA?

For B2G v1, we will not have a default Maps web app. We will partner with 3rd parties to offer maps functionality to users. However, we should look into this bug if we think it's related to a bigger issue with Gecko.

This isn't happening any more with the mobile maps interface google serves us. Feel free to reopen if you feel this needs to stay open for whatever reason.
