Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:12.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/12.0
Build ID: 20120424151700

Steps to reproduce:

When I am visiting a website, and I want to bookmark it, first of all I click on the star, then I click again there to edit the last added bookmark properties.

Actual results:

When choosing the right folder, and after creating a new subfolder, I start typing the folder name. Most of times my typing is getting stopped after a few chars. It seems like I pressed Return keyboard key, but I did not. So to finish editing, I have to double click on the new folder and start again to type the name. A lot of times this happens again even when editing.

Expected results:

I have to be able to write the new folder name without being interrupted

I've seen another report about this, and that user said he was unable to reproduce in a new profile or a different box, though we couldn't figure out what was different on that specific setup...
Do you have some focus options enabled in your desktop environment that may change focus on the current mouse target?
Whiteboard: [DUPEME]
No I don't have change focus options.
I am using Fedora KDE 16 with KDE 4.8.2
I can reproduce on Fedora 17 in KDE 4.8.3 too, default theming (and with ff Oxygen theme as well),
firefox-12.0-1.fc17.x86_64
Confirming on Firefox 13
Version: 12 Branch → 13 Branch
Confirming on Firefox 17 on a fresh Fedora install
Confirming on Fedora 18 KDE
Confirmed on Firefox Nightly (22.0a1) on Windows 7 x64.
If you have Sync, this is bug 697649.
Otherwise bug 847176 said it may be caused by other add-ons like auto-sort bookmarks.
Depends on: 697649
Whiteboard: [DUPEME]
let's keep this open to track the issue, there is clearly something in the codebase that can be triggered by add-ons and this is to figure that.

Yes I have Sync, the two bugs must be related
Confirming on Fedora 19 and Firefox 23
Duping per comment about using Sync.
