Details

When replying to a message with links in it, the links are managed correctly except that they aren't active during editing. This is important for two reasons 1: While composing I often want to refer to the quoted material - e.g. click through and mention something on the page, etc to do this now I have to navigate back to the message I'm replying to, and click on the link there. 2: It gives me more confidence the link will work - e.g. that its not a bad relative link or something like that. This is also the case with links that are composed in the message - they aren't active - that is less of an issue, unless you want to check them. I should note that this might be a deliberate UI choice i.e. people might prefer these links not to be active so that its easier to edit without inadvertantly going to a link - on balance I see that as less of an issue, but wnat to note it. Repeatability * Receive a message with a link in it. * Reply * Find the link in the compose window * click on it.
Yes Mitra, good point. Has been raised before... *sigh*... I proposed in bug 695142 that Ctrl+Click should open the link, which avoids any problems of inadvertently opening the link. Pls vote for that bug.
