Same as Firefox is doing. I just closed a window with like 10 tabs and have no way to get it back... This is quite annoying...
You had multiple windows open ?

Indeed, if multiple windows, not 1 window with multiple tabs, are open, TB should trigger a confirm alert before closing everything..
I'll investigate how FF does it and see how "easy" is to implement.

More exactly, if I am not mistaken, if TB closes multiple windows (simultaneously), it means it's shutting down (quitting) and closing all windows and that it will reopen them all with the same tags when it restarts and there is no problem.
The problem is and a confirm alert should be displayed when TB is closing just 1 window and loses track of what tabs were in it, be it 1 or more tabs (if only 1 tab is open, the tab should be closed instead of the window to close the window without warning).
I don't understand what "3-pane" means means or why it's important.
