Details

From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.01; Windows 98) BuildID: 2001032319 If the tasks menu is opened, the Privacy and Security submenu is selected, and the mouse is moved over the Image Manager submenu in any other window than the navigator, Mozilla crashes with the following "extra info" from the crashed program dialog box: MOZILLA caused an invalid page fault in module GKLAYOUT.DLL at 017f:6034c811. Registers: EAX=00000000 CS=017f EIP=6034c811 EFLGS=00010246 EBX=00000000 SS=0187 ESP=0068f210 EBP=0068f24c ECX=0068f22c DS=0187 ESI=0130df30 FS=4347 EDX=0068f23c ES=0187 EDI=00000000 GS=0000 Bytes at CS:EIP: 8b 08 ff 51 2c 33 db 39 7d f0 7e 6d 8b 46 14 8d Stack dump: 00000000 0068f23c 00e4ca20 0130df30 00000000 60d09850 603988a8 00000000 0068f238 0068f254 00000000 00000000 00f8ff20 0068f2a0 60c37bca 0068f300 In addition, clicking on the debug button (between the close and details buttons when VC++ 6.0 is installed) causes VC++ to open and display this message: Unhandled exception in mozilla.exe (GKLAYOUT.DLL): 0xC0000005: Access Violation Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Run mozilla 2. Either open chatzilla (tasks -> IRC Chat) or Composer (tasks -> Composer) 3. In the new window that pops up, open the tasks menu. 4. Move the mouse over the "Privacy and Security >" option until a submenu appears. 5. Move the mouse over the "Image Manager >" option on the submenu. Actual Results: Mozilla crashes with the above error. Expected Results: The "Image Manager >" submenu, containing "View Sites that can/cannot Display Images" etc., as displayed in the main navigator window should appear. For now, I only know that this works under win98se. I'll check the linux version soon.
Yup. It crashes under linux in exactly the same way. (Debian 2.2r2 / K2.4.2 / XF4.0.2)
Since you report seeing the bug in a build from March 23rd, this is a dup of bug 76082, marked fixed on March 29th. BTW.. In a current linux CVS build there simply IS no submenu called "Image Manager" when opening "Tasks" / "Privacy and security" from mailnews, addressbook or composer. It's only accessible from the browser window. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 76082 ***

In bug 70391 there is some confusion about whether the crash affected commercial or trunk builds. It was decided it affected commercial builds. Testing this bug with a trunk linux CVS build an hour old, the image manager submenu is only accessible from the browser window, and it one doesn't crash.
Product: Browser → Seamonkey
