Details

The installer should put up a dialog at the end of the install process to say that installation was successful, otherwise users will never know, and may suspect that the installer simply quit silently in the middle of the install. Please don't give me any marketing crap about seamless integration of the installer and running the product for the first time (activation *cough cough*).
catfood for me. I hate running the installer.

Sound a bit like bug 23222 to me.

I'll let ssu decide.
23222 is similar, but since the native installers are separate code for each platform it's usually better to write individual bugs for each one.
Agreed, but not for 6.5.

When we do this, we certainly want to add some buttons that allow the user to decide if the browser should be run immediately or not. Just launching the browser from the installer unsolicited is bogus (I asked to install the thing, I didn't ask to run it :-).
