Similar to bug 755934, but for Windows. We need to provide a native-like unobtrusive notification scheme to notify users after they install their app such that they know it happened and know what to do to use their app.
Tim - What options do we have for doing native-like notifications in Windows?
This notification is going to be displayed by the browser, so we should use whatever mechanism Firefox exposes for notifying the user of things. I think there is a "toast-style" notification that Firefox used to display for updates; we can likely use that. It might even be the "Alert Service" being discussed in bug 755934

Right. Might be better for a first iteration to go with the cross-platform solution to at least get something in place. If we notice that something different is needed (or an improved UX), then we can file bugs as such when that is needed. Modifying the bug to reflect this.
Summary: No feedback on install - Windows → Add support to alert service for Windows to allow for feedback on app install
Note - We'll want to update the notification used by the alert system to provide the same contextual information marketplace provides right now. This means:

"Launch this app from your Windows desktop or Start Menu"
Marking as invalid, the implementation for notifications is cross-platform.
