I am unable to access sites with self-signed certificates. You cannot add exemptions.

Example site:
https://lists.kictanet.or.ke/ushahidi
Please try in Firefox's own safe mode. From the menu do
Help -> Restart with Add-ons disabled.

This resolved the same issue in bug 646163
I have tested that now, but still it wouldn't let me add exception.
When a certificate is self-signed, it shouldn't matter if the signature algorithm is MD5 or MD2 or whatever, because the (self-)issuer is untrusted regardless.

This should be fixed by the patch for bug 758314.
