Both Modern and Classic exhibit this:
next to every message, there is a little envelope icon.
This is great - but why aren't there multiple icons like in just about every
other mail program I've used - such as Outlook.
Meaning
* a sealed envelope for an unread message.
* an opened envelope for a message that has been read.
* a message that has been replied to.
I ask because Mozilla Mail/News is my favorite mail program - other "best of
breed" email programs just aren't that great - Eudora, Outlook, etc... just
don't function the way I like; Mozilla does.

I am aware of 3 different kinds of icons present in Mozilla:
* normal nessage - envelope
* new message - envelope with green arrow on it
* message with attachment - envelope with a clip
read/unread messages are visualised by font weight and an indicator in "Read" column
This is a dupe of bug 22112 "UI: Icons should show state of mail"
