User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:13.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/13.0.1 Build ID: 20120614114901 Steps to reproduce: Receive a new mail that has a PDF attachment Actual results: The PDF file is not previewed in the message window Expected results: PDF file previewed, just like JPG, PNG files.
This may become possible if TB starts to bundle the pdf.js extension as Firefox does since v.15. Are there any plans for that?

Would be nice to have. A first step would be to ship chrome/pdfjs in omni.ja, since ffx 15 has it and tb doesnt. But first, pdf.js should be enabled by default in firefox...

btw according to http://adamdempsey.com/2011/12/leveraging-pdf-js-in-thunderbird/ you can do this with thunderbird conversations addon.

note that I think that it wouldn't be a good idea to preview the pdf at the end of a message, because it can be quite long to load. Opening it in another windows or tab would be smarter (like outlook does for image file for instance).

Thunderbird has started using PDF.js with version 91 last year. Depending on workflow/scenario, this might be an interesting option which may eliminate the need of having to open PDFs in a separate tab. It should be optional for the performance penalty risks mentioned.
