After the crash of bug 767298 I've been unable to view any pages besides about:home. All the pages render in complete white. It sounds very similar to 714289 but worse as a quit/reload and shutdown/restart of the whole device has failed to repair the issue. Oddly links are clickable and the browser will show the behaviour of loading the page (connection icon, loading spinner, etc). There address bar and tab bar are correct but there is no scrollbar. In the tab dropdown the thumbnail shows the loaded webpage correctly. Fx: Fennec/Firefox 14 Hardware: HTC Desire HD Android: 2.3.5
Grabbing the logcat (see instructions at https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/Fennec/Android#Using_logcat) might shed some light on the problem.
Attached file aLogcat log
I've attached a Logcat log of the following steps: 1. Load Firefox Beta (fennec native 14) 2. Touch address bar to get history 3. Click link (facebook) 4. Wait for tab to have completed loading (but showing just white content) 5. Capture log
I see some GL warnings. The log seems to indicate gecko itself is fine and loading pages, so it's probably graphics-related, but I'm not sure why restarting the phone doesn't fix it. That's weird. CC'ing some gfx guys.
This is the problem: > I/Gecko (23466): -- creating basic, not accelerated This means that GL context creation is failing. My guess is that the crash left your profile in a bad state, and this is affecting the order of events on startup. There are a couple ways to test this theory: 1) Uninstall and reinstall Beta, and see if it works. 2) Try install and running Aurora (from https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mobile/nightly/latest-mozilla-aurora-android/fennec-15.0a2.multi.android-arm.apk).
We have completed our launch of our new Firefox on Android. The development of the new versions use GitHub for issue tracking. If the bug report still reproduces in a current version of [Firefox on Android nightly](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.mozilla.fenix) an issue can be reported at the [Fenix GitHub project](https://github.com/mozilla-mobile/fenix/).
