769940 - Global search doesn't find messages in the Archives

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/536.5 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/19.0.1084.56 Safari/536.5

Steps to reproduce:

In the Search box I typed DAX


Actual results:

Thunderbird found no messages with DAX


Expected results:

It should have found several messages in my Archives that have DAX in them.  Search did work successfully for messages in my InBox that have never been moved from the inbox.

I moved the message containing the word "DAX" back into the InBox, but search failed to find it.  Apparently moving a message to the Archives removes it from the Search even in you move it back to the InBox.

Dean, I assume this is about "Search all messages" aka "Global Search" aka "Ctrl+K"?

...and where did these messages have the word "DAX", in message headers (e.g. subject), or message body text?

Yes, this is the global search at the top.  The messages had "DAX" in the body.

I've tried search for other words and phrases (i.e. appointment and "appointment reminder") and it seems to work.  It looks like there is something about the word DAX that is causing a problem.

get this addon http://mesquilla.com/extensions/glodaquilla/ and customize to show the gloda id column.  DOes the message containing the DAX text have a non-zero gloda ID?
