Hi Pascal,

We need your help in getting the about:home prompt localize.
The goal of this prompt is to get users still in old Firefox Beta versions to the latest beta. We still have about 1.7million users in old betas.

The final design and copy can be found here: (bug 754773) or https://bug754773.bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?id=637279.

Implementation bug: 771732

This should be very similar to the 3.6 prompt we did a few months ago (bug 734197).

Timing: Do you think we can have this localize by the end of next week (14th)?

Thanks!
The 3.6 prompt was a server-side re-build of the google.com/firefox start page, not something on about:home which is a built-in page into Firefox

Looking at bug 771732, there is no clue to where the source files are, just a mockup. Is the prompt on about:home implemented via javascript injected by the snippets service? Are there more strings than what is seen on the page? How about QA of localized versions?

Given the unknowns and the fact that it affects all locales, I don't think it is possible to have that localized in just a few days.
Im adding Chris More (since I'm not sure how the 3.6 was implemented).

We're planning to push this out in a couple of weeks.
Does that help in the localization timeframe?

Chris, can you please provide details on how localization would be implemented?

Thanks
any news on this one?
moving that outside of my radar
