the inventory lookup code seems wrong - it should have grabbed the key/value instance for pdu info
first pass at a cleaner inventory keyvalue lookup using the v2 API but it isn't working yet: https://github.com/mozilla/briar-patch/commit/c0503c139830f69c358c84e4e6de54e910f8c1eb
