User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:14.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/14.0.1 Build ID: 20120713134347 Steps to reproduce: Me and another user of FF 14.0.1 entered a URL containing special characters (such as äöüß) manually into the adress bar an pressed enter. This does not happen when following a link or using the arrow-button in the adress bar instead of enter. Additionally, this does not happen at the first time, but only if you are already on any page of the same website. Actual results: Parts of the URL are reduplicated at the beginning, e.g. http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grün becomes http://de.wide.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grün. For every special character, 5 symbols are reduplicated at the beginning.
This only happens for me if I enter the URL without the "http:" at the start; if I enter it with "http:" at the start then it's fine.
This may be related to bug 546342, and probably doesn't need to be security-sensitive, but I'm not quite ready to unhide it.
