Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:14.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/14.0.1
Build ID: 20120713134347

Steps to reproduce:

Thunderbird carried out an automatic update. This was happening in the last few updates, not sure on which version its started but it goes back at least 2 versions (I am on version 14.0.1)

Actual results:

After the automated update from Thunderbird has been installed, my main toolbar is reset to its default state.

Expected results:

The toolbar should have retained its customized state.
Note: I have seen similar bugs relating to restart after addons have been updated, but I only experience this when the application itself is updated; since it is usually within a 6 weeks release cycle this is not a show stopper, but an annoyance nevertheless.

Application: Thunderbird 14.0 (20120713141924)

Any special reason you have set version to "7"?

Yes there are reports of folder columns being reset after upgrade or enabling of Test pilot addon. But resetting of toolbar is new to me (but it can have the same cause).
See e.g. bug 710056.

changed version to 14, but i have seen this with version 13 as well. My guess is that it is one of the extensions that add buttons automatically.
Version: 7 → 14

I haven't seen this issue for a long time, I suggest we mark as RESOLVED :-)

The only thing I see from time to time is Tb forgetting the open Tabs (when I crash it) but it has been a lot more stable lately. (I use the beta in production for a year now)

I am marking as RESOLVED WORKSFORME as it didn't happen anymore in later versions of Thunderbird.
