Hi! In order to support Firefox OS in product help we need a landing page for them. Michelle and me thought that going with s.m.o/phone is the best solution right now. We need to agree on this by tomorrow (The Gaia team needs a URL to link to by EOD tomorrow)
(In reply to :ibai from comment #0) > We need to agree on this by tomorrow (The Gaia team needs a URL to link to > by EOD tomorrow) If they are linking from "in product", then we should create an inproduct redirect for them and that way we can change the URL they actual end up on easily in the admin. This is how all links from inside firefox are handled.
Ricky, that's even better (and flexible as understand). If this is the case, do you need us to make any type of decision?
(In reply to :ibai from comment #2) > Ricky, that's even better (and flexible as understand). If this is the case, > do you need us to make any type of decision? The url would be something like: /fxos/<version>/<platform>/<locale>/firefox-help And that would redirect to /phone or whatever we decide (it can be changed in the admin).
Hi, So, do you need the version, platform, locale from us? It will be version 1.0, platform (would this be device? I'm not actually sure), and would locale be pt-BR or es? The plan is to launch with both. Thanks, Michelle

It is the standard way SUMO urls are created in Firefox and Fennec, so they should be familiar with it or can look it up. We'll handle any values that are passed and can redirect to different pages based on the values passed.
Hi Ricky, Any update on this, now that we have new product URLs? Thanks, MIchelle
We just need to create the redirects in the admin and we are done right? They would redirect to the product landing page https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/products/mobile (or https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/products/firefox-os?).
Michelle, are the links in Firefox OS in the format that Ricky posted? If yes, we are good to go.

I'm pretty sure that they aren't currently in that format, but I flagged the two bugs as blocking today, so I can get some more traction. They are here: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=799786 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=799788

Can you tell me what the URL is that I need to give to the Firefox OS team? I don't understand what it should be from this bug and they are asking me for it. Thanks! Michelle
The URLs pointing to sumo should follow this format: http://support.mozilla.org/1/firefox-os/<VERSION>/<OS>/<LOCALE>/<TOPIC> They need to fill in appropriate values for the <PARAMETERS> based on the system. The <TOPIC> is optional, leaving it out will redirect to the product landing page. If they need to link to other pages, we create the topic on our end with the final destination and they link to it with this format.
awesome, thank you! sorry to be dense about this :)

Also is there any content to try so we can make sure what we do is correct?
(In reply to Vivien Nicolas (:vingtetun) from comment #13) > Hey can you elaborate on what should be the value of 'OS'? Also is there any > content to try so we can make sure what we do is correct? It can be whatever you want it to be. For example, Firefox uses "Darwin", "WINNT", "Android"... Firefox Home used "iPhone". Not sure what makes sense for Firefox OS? In this case the product is the platform so maybe it just is "firefox-os" as well. Unless you want to distinguish between different flavors of them. This is mostly used for metrics I think, but we can also redirect users to different places on SUMO based on that value if needed. I just created the general Help redirect for Firefox OS. This URL redirects properly, for example: http://support.mozilla.org/1/firefox-os/1.0a7/firefox-os/en-US/
OK, I think we are done here? If not, please reopen and let us know what's left. Thanks!
