In 20010426, hitting enter after typing url in url bar doesn't work. Current page reloads. Using the dropdown in the url bar, the url can than be retrieved after all....
Also, the url in the bar doesn't change when I get to a new page thru a link or something like that.

this works for me with the 2001042604 build on Win98. What are you're exact steps? does this still happen with a new window? after a restart?
Doesn't seem to be the same as bug 75741 - in this case the 'return' keypress is detected, it just triggers the loading of the already-loaded page, rather than the new URL in the bar. I would put the severity up a notch, because it's /really/ annoying and is the sort of thing that will discourage people from bothering with Moz.
Linux has the same problem with 0.9 for me, but not for my office mate who also just installed 0.9 We were both coming form a May 2nd nightly build, and we both kept ~/.mozilla intact for our upgrade Steps; 1) launch mozilla, my home page loads correctly. 2) click my freep.com bookmark. freep.com loads correctly 3) type slashdot.org into my location bar, hit enter. Freep.com reloads 4) click slashdot.org bookmark and slashdot.org loads correctly 5) type detnews.com into location bar, hit enter. Slashdot.org reloads. 6) File->Web open Location->freshmeat.net seems to work just fine.

This problem seems to almost disappear after installing new theme (graymodern), though I had it imtermittently in some windows even with new theme.

Here are two ways that I am able to consistently reproduce the bug on 0.9 Mozilla Milestone build for Windows 2000. This is based off a clean install, talkback build. (but the computer had Netscape 4.77 installed before so it migrated the profile from it.) 1. Start Mozilla. 2. Clicked No for the Windows Integration Dialog Box. (Probably not significant, included for completeness.) 3. Mozilla main browser window comes up in Modern Theme. Really short way: 4. Goto preferences, themes, and hit apply Modern theme button. 5. Close Preferences dialog. 6. Goto URL bar and type in a different URL than what is already on the screen. 7. Press enter. 8. Page that was originally displayed appears to reload. The slightly longer way: 1. Start Mozilla. 2. Clicked No for the Windows Integration Dialog Box. (Probably not significant, included for completeness.) 3. Mozilla main browser window comes up in Modern Theme. 4. Goto Preferences and apply Classic Theme. 5. Now with or without closing Preferences apply the Modern Theme again. 6. Close Preferences dialog. 7. Goto URL bar and type in a different URL than what is already on the screen. 8. Press enter. 9. Page that was originally displayed appears to reload.

Just as a clarification, I'm seconding Tim's claim that it's not the same as bug 75741. The problem there appears to be with all keyboard input. In this case, other typing works: entering a new URL, editing a url (backspace, delete). It's just when it comes time to load the new URL, it still loads the originally displayed page.

I have seen this using a win32 build from 9th May, and yes it was annoying. If this is a dupe or not, I can at least confirm that it exists sometimes - doesn't hit all the time for me. Can't find a dupe off top of head.. will look further and annotate as necessary...

Test case to reproduce (on build 2001052404 under NT4 - also tested on assorted nightlies going back to May 13): Enter this address into the url bar: http://www.tournament.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?forumid=22 Click on any of the links on the page - none will work. Re-enter the above link, but change the forumid from 22 to 21. Press Enter - nothing happens. However, typing a url on another domain and pressing Enter works (e.g. www.mozilla.org).
