Jobs throbber in status bar never stops, but Activity Manager shows no active jobs

After running Thunderbird for some time, inevitably a jobs throbber appears in the status bar. It says "1 job" or "n jobs" (for n > 1) and there's a spinning blue arrow. The number of jobs increases as time goes on, and the arrow continues to spin. Left-, right-, or double-clicking on this message does nothing, and the Activity Manager shows no pending activities, so it's a complete mystery as to what "jobs" are supposedly active. I haven't identified any particular trigger for when the job count is increased.
The only way of getting the throbber to stop, and the job count to disappear, is to restart Thunderbird.
This issue doesn't appear to cause any functional problems, except to distract and annoy me with the spinning arrow.

I don't know what jobs TB would do here (maybe printing but I found no correlating text in TB). Do you have a Add-on which could show this? Have you tried in Safe-mode (menu Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled...)?

Oh, sorry—it hadn't occurred to me that it might be an add-on causing this behaviour. Is there any faster way of checking which one apart from disabling them all and then enabling them one at a time?

Unfortunately not.
An other method (but this could also use the same time) is, you disable the first half of Add-ons. If the throbber is still visible, then the Add-on is in the second half. If not, in the first half. If in the second half, disable again the half of this Add-ons. If the throbber disappears then one of the last disabled Add-ons makes shows the throbber. Then you can enable one after one of this disabled Add-ons. I hope this is comprehensible. If not you can still use the one after one approach.

The message is being output either by Lightning or by the Exchange 2007/2010 Calendar and Tasks Provider. I can't tell which one, but regardless, this probably isn't a Thunderbird bug, so closing.
