not sure when, it broken but news://host/group urls are no longer launching the 3 pane. thanks to cavin for the bug report. they should be launching the 3 pane, and autosubscribing the newsgroup on the server. if the server doesn't exist we should get the 3 pane and then wizard. the 3 pane is not opening in either case. we are subscribing, because when you do go and open the 3 pane, the newsgroup shows up (or the wizard launches, as it should.)
